FRANK & EILEEN: Curl of Art embraces natural curl patterns with the cleanest, most lightweight ingredients. What inspired you to create Curl of Art?

ARTIERA: When I started my natural hair journey in 2017, I struggled to find clean, effective and easy products on the market. Being a mom and wife, I didn't have a lot of time to dedicate to my hair care routine. The pandemic allowed me the time to work on a passion project that turned into a haircare line. I still can't believe it!

F&E: How have you seen Curl of Art (and a simplified hair care routine) empower women, including your own daughters?

ARTIERA: My main goal when creating Curl of Art was to encourage women and children to embrace their natural textures. I want them to know that they are beautiful in every way and that hair doesn't define you.

F&E: Tell us about your morning routine with Curl of Art.

ARTIERA: My morning routine with Curl of Art is very simple. I co-wash my hair in the shower and apply my Deep Blue (C)url Leave-In Perfector. After the shower, I either do a super sleek bun or leave it curly to air dry.

F&E: Before launching Curl of Art, you ran a successful event company in LA. What aspects of that work prepared you for your role as founder and CEO?

ARTIERA: There are so many key aspects from my work in event planning that have been incorporated into Curl of Art. Creativity, organization, and leadership all play a role in the day to day.

F&E: How does your professional work influence your style?

ARTIERA: If I'm being honest, it doesn't! My style is my style no matter what. I think that's the beauty of living in LA….there aren’t any rules.

F&E: You are based in LA but travel with your family a lot! What are some of your favorite places to visit, and what are your must-haves to pack?

ARTIERA: I'm a beach girl, so I would have to say my top two favorite places to visit are Cabo (it’s so close to LA!) and St. Maarten. They're both beautiful, relaxing, and kid-friendly. I never go on a beach vacay without my F&E Eileen button-up in classic linen! It's versatile, so I’ll usually pair it with denim shorts, sandals, and obnoxious accessories, or throw it over a bikini. Other must-haves are my Curl of Art….of course! It’s easy for when I want to wear my hair curly or even in a sleek bun. Lastly, I can't go anywhere without my sunglasses!

F&E: How has your style evolved over the years? Are there any pieces you’ll hold onto and pass down to your daughters?

ARTIERA: If I'm being honest, my style has never changed….I'm either tomboy chic or super girly and feminine. I have really cute dresses along with designer purses that I can't wait for my daughters to wear as vintage pieces in their 20s.
