FRANK & EILEEN: You're an incredibly accomplished engineer, the co-founder of Pad2Go, the recipient of an F&E MIT fellowship and one of Forbes Asia's 30 under 30! What inspired your extraordinary career path?
SHUBHANGI: As cliche as it sounds, I truly believe in following your heart. As an engineer in a patriarchal country like Nepal, starting a social enterprise on a taboo topic (menstruation) was not an everyday choice. Yet, my co-founder and I trusted our gut instinct, and with the support of our families, we are now supporting 110,000+ menstruators in Nepal. Similarly, shifting gears from being an engineer to pursuing an MBA program has made me question a lot, but deep down, I trusted my gut. And here I am, ready to conquer uncharted territory. So, here's to trusting your gut, embracing the unexpected, and rocking your unique journey through life. It's your story, after all!

F&E: What has been the standout experience of your MBA thus far? Have you gotten involved in many initiatives or college clubs?
SHUBHANGI: The MBA program at MIT Sloan is everything I had ever imagined and more. It definitely feels like I have found my people. Currently, I am co-leading two clubs at MIT Sloan: the South Asia Business Club, which brings people from South Asia together and focuses on community building away from home, and Sloan Entrepreneurs for International Development.

F&E: How do your busy MBA schedule and professional commitments influence your clothing choices? What are your go-to pieces?
SHUBHANGI: I opt for a few staple pieces, like a favorite pair of pants and an Eileen button-up in white, that I can style up or down. I then add layers because Boston weather demands it! My go-to shoes are a pair of Nike Air sneakers or loafers. Then I add some gold-plated hoops, and voila!

F&E: What do your next steps after graduation look like?
SHUBHANGI: I firmly believe that it's integral for businesses to have a societal and environmental impact as part of their business strategy. At MIT Sloan, I am currently focusing on the sustainability certificate, and during the summer, I interned at a tech company to develop their ESG strategy. I hope to get into impact investing or a role where I can further hone my sustainability skills and work with a company that shares my values.
